In every case, the useful result is not only a color name: it is a controlled description of color + finish + gloss + coating + application + panel construction.
Use the screen chart to shortlist
Online swatches are useful for grouping warm, cool, neutral, metallic and brand-color directions. They are not a reliable final production standard because monitors, phones, lighting conditions and surface reflectivity change how a color is perceived.
Use a physical sample to approve
Before bulk production, identify the intended color reference, surface effect, gloss level and, for directional finishes, orientation. For appearance-sensitive work, retain an approved physical sample as the visual reference for production and incoming inspection.
Project note: a RAL number can communicate the starting color target, but the final
visual result also depends on coating chemistry, gloss, metallic effect, substrate and viewing conditions.

Choose the Finish Before You Lock the Color
An ACM color chart becomes more useful when it separates surface families. The same nominal hue can look significantly different when it is matte, high-gloss, metallic, brushed or reflective.

How to Specify RAL Colors for an Aluminum Composite Panel Order
RAL codes are useful because they give designers, contractors, distributors and factories a common starting language. For coated aluminum composite panels, however, the code should be treated as part of a complete finish brief rather than as the only acceptance criterion.
Send more than the RAL number
Include the intended application, interior or exterior exposure, PE/PVDF or other requested surface system, gloss target, metallic or non-metallic direction, panel thickness, aluminum skin, core, dimensions and quantity. This lets the color discussion stay connected to the panel that will actually be produced.
Confirm what “match” means
