Many ACP sheets have one primary decorative face and a reverse side intended mainly for bonding, handling or concealed installation. That job may be appearance, printing, cleaning, corrosion protection, short-term weather exposure or simply a different color for the reverse side of a sign or partition.

A sign can use white on one side and a contrasting color on the other. A partition may need decorative faces on both sides. An exposed architectural element may require weather-focused treatment on both surfaces.
Using a premium coating on a concealed reverse face may add unnecessary cost. The economical solution is to match each side to its actual visibility, exposure and cleaning condition.
A coating request should never be separated from the panel underneath it. Total thickness alone does not tell a buyer how much aluminum is used, what core is supplied or whether the second face is a decorative coating or only a basic service treatment.
“Double face ACP” is not one universal grade. The most useful inquiry defines what each side must do. The matrix below is a purchasing guide; final coating availability, color matching and quantity should be confirmed for the requested construction.

Double-side coating is most useful when the second face creates a measurable fabrication, appearance or maintenance benefit. If the rear is permanently concealed, a conventional one-face decorative build may be the more rational specification.
Suspended signs, pylons, wayfinding and retail graphics where viewers can see both sides. A two-side coated ACP sheet can reduce secondary back finishing and keep edge details cleaner.
Office partitions, decorative dividers and ceiling blades often expose both faces. Coordinated front and back colors make the component ready for installation after cutting, routing and folding.
Display panels, kiosks, counters and temporary exhibition structures may need two presentation surfaces, rapid fabrication and repeatable branded colors.
Canopies, fins, screens and open-backed decorative elements can expose both sides to view. Coating selection should follow the actual UV, rain, pollution and cleaning exposure on each face.

It is an aluminum composite panel specified with a functional or decorative finish on both faces rather than treating the reverse only as a basic service side. For procurement, the safest wording is to list the coating, color and finish of Face 1 and Face 2 separately.
Not necessarily. Standard ACP may use a full decorative coating on the visible face and a much simpler protective treatment on the back. If the reverse will be visible, printed, cleaned or exposed, ask for a finish-grade back specification rather than assuming the service coat is equivalent.
