Material Build
Aluminum skin thickness and core formulation directly change raw-material consumption. Ask suppliers to state the front skin, back skin and core rather than only the total panel thickness.
The useful question is not simply “What is the ACP sheet price?” It is “What panel construction is included in that price?” DERACP helps importers, distributors, façade contractors and sign fabricators compare ACP sheet price per square meter, 4x8 ACP sheet price and total project cost on the same specification basis.
Two suppliers can both quote a “4 mm ACP sheet” and still be offering substantially different products. Total panel thickness is easy to see, but it does not tell you the aluminum gauge, coating system, core construction, finish, protective film or packing included in the offer. Those details influence both ACP sheet cost and whether the panel fits the intended application.
Aluminum skin thickness and core formulation directly change raw-material consumption. Ask suppliers to state the front skin, back skin and core rather than only the total panel thickness.
PE, PVDF and decorative surfaces serve different exposure and appearance requirements. A similar-looking color does not mean the coating system or expected use is the same.
Quantity, color split, protective film, palletizing, shipping term, destination and documentation can change the landed cost even when the factory material rate is unchanged.
Export quotations are often discussed per square meter, while fabricators may think in sheets. A standard metric sheet commonly called “4×8” is 1220 × 2440 mm. Its area is 2.9768 m². The calculator below converts a supplier's quoted rate into a sheet and project material value.
1220 × 2440 mm = 2.9768 m². An exact imperial 4 ft × 8 ft sheet is 32 ft², about 2.9729 m². For purchase orders, calculate from the actual millimeter dimensions stated by the supplier.
This conversion estimates material value only. Packing, inland transport, ocean freight, duty, tax, fabrication and installation may be separate.
Enter any quoted price per square meter. The result is not a DERACP quotation.
A useful quotation makes these variables visible. If one is missing, ask for clarification before judging whether the ACP sheet price is high or low.
The aluminum layers are a significant part of the panel's material value. A 0.50 mm skin construction should not be compared with a panel using a much lighter aluminum gauge just because both are described as 4 mm ACP.
Common ACP sheet thicknesses include approximately 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm depending on product family and application. Thickness affects core volume, rigidity, weight and fabrication behavior, but it should always be read together with aluminum skin thickness.
Standard PE-core and mineral-filled fire-rated constructions are different products with different cost structures. For projects with fire requirements, specify the required test method and classification rather than asking only for “fireproof ACP price.”
PE coating is commonly considered for interiors, signage and controlled environments. PVDF systems are typically discussed for exterior exposure. Coating chemistry, layer build and color can change cost and should match the actual service environment.
Solid and common colors can be simpler to plan than mirror, brushed, wood, marble, high-gloss or custom-matched finishes. Custom color development may also require minimum production quantities or sample approval.
Factory production, color change, protective film, packing and container utilization all interact with order volume. Ask for price breaks based on realistic quantities rather than assuming a retail sheet price represents a wholesale order.
An EXW, FOB, CIF or delivered quotation answers a different commercial question. Edge protection, wooden packing, loading method, shipping route, duty and local delivery can materially change landed ACP sheet cost.
The table below is a sourcing framework, not a published DERACP price list. It shows why two panels with the same nominal thickness may belong in different quotation categories.
| Buying scenario | Typical specification questions | Cost tendency | What to verify before ordering |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mm interior ACP | PE coating, color, aluminum skin, routing/folding needs | Usually more cost-sensitive | Skin gauge, flatness, finish, protective film, cut yield |
| 3 mm sign sheet | Print/lamination compatibility, white/colored surface, sheet size | Optimized for fabrication economics | Actual face construction, print method, outdoor duration |
| 4 mm exterior ACP | PVDF or specified coating, heavier skins, climate exposure | Higher than basic interior grades when build-up increases | Coating, aluminum gauge, fixing system, wind/load design, local code |
| 4 mm fire-rated ACP | Mineral-filled core, required test method and classification | Different cost structure from PE-core ACP | Exact tested construction and matching documentation |
| Decorative ACP | Mirror, brushed, wood, marble, high-gloss or custom finish | Finish-dependent | Physical sample, gloss/texture, direction, color batch control |
| Distributor stock program | Multiple colors, repeat sizes, mixed specifications, private label | Volume and mix dependent | MOQ by color, pallet plan, repeat-order color control, labeling |
For structural façade applications, the project engineer and façade-system designer should confirm panel and fixing suitability. Material price alone is not an engineering selection criterion.
A “4x8 ACP sheet price” is often searched as though 4×8 is one standard product. In practice, it only describes the approximate length and width. A 1220 × 2440 mm sheet can be manufactured in different total thicknesses, aluminum skin gauges, core types and coating systems.
For a sign shop, a 3 mm PE-core sheet with a printable surface may be the relevant product. For an exterior façade contractor, a 4 mm panel with a project-appropriate exterior coating and heavier aluminum skins may be required. For a fire-sensitive project, the core and supporting test evidence become central to the specification.
That means the correct way to ask for a 4×8 ACP sheet cost is to send the complete build in one line—for example: 1220 × 2440 × 4 mm, specified aluminum skin, specified core, PVDF finish, color reference, quantity and delivery destination.
These images are hosted on the DERACP website and show representative ACP products, surfaces and stored sheet inventory. Final color, construction and commercial terms are confirmed against the approved order specification.
DERACP's advantage for professional buyers is not a single published number. It is the ability to configure the panel around the application and then price that defined construction. This is especially useful when an importer needs several quality levels, when a contractor must match a project specification, or when a sign fabricator is trying to control cutting yield and repeat orders.
DERACP states more than 20 years of ACP manufacturing experience and provides project options for total thickness, aluminum skin, core, coating, color, decorative finish, custom size, protective film and export packing. Factory and warehouse coordination also helps connect production planning with batch inspection and shipment preparation.

A lower initial material rate can create a higher project cost when it produces more waste, requires rework, arrives with unsuitable packing, uses an unapproved color, or does not match the required coating or core. Compare the total buying outcome, not only the first number in the quotation.
Put every supplier into the same comparison sheet: dimensions, total thickness, aluminum gauge, core, coating, color, tolerance, film, packing and Incoterm.
A custom width or length can sometimes reduce off-cut waste, joints or fabrication time. Compare usable panel area, not only nominal square meters purchased.
Record factory price, packing, inland freight, ocean freight, duty, local tax and delivery separately so purchasing teams can identify the true cost difference.

There is no reliable universal ACP sheet price per square meter because the panel build varies. Total thickness, front and back aluminum skin thickness, core type, coating, finish, quantity, protective film, packing and delivery term should all be included in the comparison. Ask for a live project quote based on a defined specification.
A commonly supplied 4×8-format ACP sheet is 1220 × 2440 mm, which equals 2.9768 m². Multiply the price per square meter by 2.9768 to estimate the material price per sheet. Then add any excluded packing, freight, duty, tax, fabrication or installation cost.
Not always. A 3 mm panel with heavier aluminum skins, a special coating or decorative finish may cost more than a basic 4 mm panel. Compare the full layer construction rather than using total thickness as the only price indicator.
The aluminum skins are a major material component of an aluminum composite panel. Increasing aluminum gauge changes metal consumption and can influence rigidity, impact response and fabrication behavior. For this reason, skin thickness should be clearly stated in every quotation.
No. They represent different surface or core constructions. PE-coated products are commonly considered for interior and signage use, PVDF systems are often specified for exterior exposure, and mineral-filled fire-rated core options have a different material structure. Final selection must follow the actual project requirement.
Send the application, destination market, total panel thickness, front and back aluminum skin thickness, core requirement, coating, color or finish, width, length, quantity by color, protective film, packing and destination. If the project has a fire requirement, include the required test method and classification.
Send DERACP the panel build, quantity and destination. The sales team can review your 3 mm, 4 mm, 4×8, custom-size, exterior, interior, signage or wholesale requirement and prepare a project-specific quotation.
