Control viewing direction
Metallic ACP panels can appear lighter, darker or more reflective from different angles. Keep fabrication and installation orientation consistent across visible elevations, especially on large modules.
DERACP supplies metallic aluminum composite panel options for façades, interior walls, retail environments, columns, ceilings, signage and distributor programs. Specify silver, gold, champagne, bronze or other metallic directions together with the panel build, coating, gloss, orientation and sample approval method—not as a color name alone.
A metallic finish ACM panel interacts with daylight, artificial lighting and viewing angle. That means procurement needs to control more than the nominal shade. Metallic particle orientation, gloss, coating system, panel direction and batch consistency can all change how a wall reads after installation.
Metallic ACP panels can appear lighter, darker or more reflective from different angles. Keep fabrication and installation orientation consistent across visible elevations, especially on large modules.
Screen images are useful for shortlisting silver, champagne or gold aluminum composite panel directions, but a physical sample gives the project team a better reference for gloss, sparkle and undertone.
Record metallic finish, coating, total thickness, aluminum skins, core, dimensions and visible side together. A sample should represent the intended construction as closely as practical.
Metallic ACP panel selection should begin with the visual role of the surface. The right choice for a quiet corporate façade can be different from the right choice for a retail feature wall or hospitality interior.
A practical modern direction for façades, column wraps, transport-related interiors, commercial walls and signage where a neutral metal appearance is wanted.
Used when the design calls for a warmer decorative statement in retail, hospitality, display, ceiling or feature-wall applications. Confirm gloss and undertone against the project lighting.
Useful between neutral silver and stronger gold. These warmer metallic directions can coordinate with glass, stone, wood-look finishes and dark architectural palettes.
For project-driven colors, send a color code, coated metal chip or approved physical reference and identify whether the desired result is metallic, pearlescent, brushed or mirror-like.
Finish names are descriptive directions. Final appearance, feasibility and tolerances should be confirmed in the quotation and approved sample for the exact order.
These surface families can all look “metal-like,” but they behave differently. Selecting the wrong family can create avoidable approval or installation problems.
| Surface family | How it looks | Directionality | Useful applications | What to approve |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metallic ACP | Metallic sparkle and changing light response within a color family | Often visually directional | Façades, cladding, corporate interiors, columns, ceilings | Color, metallic effect, gloss, panel orientation, batch reference |
| Brushed ACP | Linear metal grain with a tactile industrial appearance | Strong grain direction | Retail, elevators, displays, interior feature walls, signage | Brush pattern, grain direction, tone, protective film |
| Mirror ACM | Highly reflective decorative surface | Reflection dominates | Interior display, ceilings, decorative walls, shopfitting | Reflectivity, distortion expectation, handling and cleaning |
| Solid Color ACP | More uniform non-metallic color field | Usually less direction-sensitive | Signage, walls, branding, broad architectural palettes | Color reference, gloss, coating and acceptable tolerance |
The images below are hosted on the DERACP website. They show representative color, brushed and reflective surface directions; final production appearance should be confirmed against the agreed physical sample and order specification.
The values below are practical discussion ranges reflected in current DERACP product information. They are not a universal specification for every application. Final thickness, skin, core, coating, dimensions, testing and tolerances should be confirmed for the selected construction.
For façade or regulated building work, also identify the required fire classification, test method, system details and document scope. Do not assume a test report for one construction automatically applies to another thickness, core or installation assembly.
Metallic color gets the attention, but coating selection can be the more important technical decision. The same silver aluminum composite panel appearance may be specified differently for a controlled interior than for long-term exterior cladding.
PE-coated metallic ACP may be considered for many interior decoration, retail, exhibition, ceiling and display requirements where exterior weathering is not the main design condition.
For exposed architectural cladding, discuss PVDF or another project-suitable coating together with aluminum skin, core, fixing system, climate and documentation requirements.
The finish should support the design and the fabrication workflow. Use the application to decide how much visual control, coating durability, aluminum skin and documentation the purchase requires.
Silver, champagne and bronze metallic directions can give a façade a controlled metal appearance. Review coating, core, skins, orientation and applicable system requirements.
Gold and warmer metallic finishes can support feature walls, counters, ceilings, columns and branded environments where lighting strongly affects appearance.
Silver and grey metallic ACM can create a technical, neutral visual language for reception walls, elevator surrounds, partitions and architectural details.
Metallic backgrounds can create contrast for dimensional letters and display systems. Confirm routing, bonding, printing or vinyl compatibility before production.
Prioritize coating system, aluminum skins, core/fire requirement, module size, metallic direction, joint design, fixing-system interface, test documents and retained approval sample.
Prioritize flatness, routing and folding behavior, visible side, protective film, adhesion or print method, finished yield, handling and edge appearance.
Prioritize repeatable SKUs, popular silver/gold/bronze directions, price-grade structure, private-label film, carton/pallet marks, reorder references and batch identification.
Provide silver, gold, RAL direction, coated chip, competitor sample or another physical reference together with the end use.
State metallic, brushed, mirror, solid or pearlescent/chameleon intent. Similar online images can represent very different surface technologies.
Evaluate in representative daylight and artificial light, noting gloss, undertone, sparkle and directional behavior.
Connect the approved sample identity to coating, panel build, dimensions, quantity, packing and future repeat-order records.

It is an ACP/ACM panel with a surface designed to create a metallic visual effect, typically through a coated finish that reflects light differently from a flat solid color. The complete product still needs to be specified by panel thickness, aluminum skins, core, coating, dimensions and intended application.
DERACP product imagery and color resources show silver, gold, champagne, brushed and reflective directions. The exact color, coating, gloss, structure and availability should be confirmed against a physical sample and formal quotation for the intended order.
Metallic ACP can be discussed for exterior cladding when the coating, aluminum skins, core, panel build, fabrication, fixing system and required project documents are suitable for the application. PVDF is a common exterior coating direction, but the exact specification should be project-reviewed.
Metallic particles and surface orientation can change how light is reflected. If adjacent panels are rotated, the façade may show unintended light/dark shifts even when the panels come from the same nominal color.
Send application, interior/exterior exposure, total thickness, front and back aluminum skins, core requirement, coating, target metallic color or sample, gloss, width, length, quantity, destination, protective film and packing requirements. For regulated projects, add the required fire classification, test method and document scope.
DERACP states that custom panel structure, color/finish, dimensions, protective film and packing can be reviewed. For a repeat-order program, it is useful to define SKU codes, retained color samples, labeling and batch-reference rules from the beginning.
Share the application, silver/gold/metallic color reference, coating requirement, panel thickness, aluminum skins, core, sheet size, quantity and destination. If appearance is critical, include a physical reference or request a sample approval route before bulk production.
