I. Application of fluorocarbon resin(PVDF coating)
As we know, the fluorocarbon coating with super weather resistance and durability, corrosion resistance and excellent resistance to sticky dirt is used in large quantities on the curtain wall of outdoor buildings, and the fluorocarbon resin content (polyvinylidene fluoride) in the fluorocarbon paint is required to be equal to or higher than 70% in the aluminum composite panel for curtain wall. This is the only way to ensure the quality of fluorocarbon coating and the long-lasting beauty of the building exterior. However, due to the fierce competition in the market, some low fluorine content and low price paints have come into being. In the short term, these coatings are not much different from the PVDF coatings of HYLAR5000 or KYNAR500, but with the extension of the use time, their weathering resistance cannot compete with the PVDF coatings of HYLAR5000 and KYNAR500, and the maintenance time and life span of the exterior of the building will be shortened. Therefore, when choosing a fluorocarbon coating manufacturer, it is recommended to choose a coating company with a loud brand and large output, such as PPG from the United States and Beckers from Sweden, which are internationally renowned companies. Because they can get enough guarantee in terms of quality stability and process directivity.
On the other hand, the coating process of fluorocarbon coating is the key factor to decide whether the performance of fluorocarbon coating can be guaranteed in all aspects. The process of fluorocarbon coating needs to be baked at high temperature, and under certain temperature conditions, its performance can reach the best state. If the production process does not reach the required temperature, the performance will be greatly reduced, even inferior to other types of coatings, such as polyester coatings. Some manufacturers choose aluminum materials that do not meet the requirements of curtain wall, such as 1××× series, from cost consideration, and have to reduce the baking temperature to meet the requirements of the board, which makes the coating performance greatly reduced. After comparing and analyzing the performance of different manufacturers' fluorocarbon panels, it is found that the same fluorocarbon curtain wall panels have great differences in performance in all aspects. From the coating performance, the solvent resistance of good fluorocarbon coating can reach more than 5000 times and T-bending performance ≤ 2T, while the solvent resistance of poor fluorocarbon panels is only 1000 times, some even less than 500 times, which is equivalent to the level of some polyester coatings. If the process does not meet the requirements, the chemical resistance of the coating such as acid resistance, alkali resistance, etc. is difficult to meet the requirements, and it is impossible to pass the weather resistance test of 4000 hours.
The use of signage with aluminum composite panel determines that the coating does not need high weather resistance requirements, so the coating mostly uses polyester and some other coatings, and its performance is far lower than fluorocarbon coatings.
